Therapy can calm the turbulent waters of your life

About Therapy

My Approach to Therapy

I've always been fascinated by psychology. Why do people think and behave the way they do? What transforms a regular conversation into a therapeutic one? What is the secret sauce of change?

Like so many of you, I've fought my share of emotional battles. I understand the crushing weight of depression, and how anxiety can turn an average day into a battle. I've grieved the loss of people, dreams, and parts of my life that I never expected to lose. I've struggled with the shame of making bad decisions and wrong turns.

Thankfully, I've also experienced the power of good therapy. I've felt the depression lift, anxiety ease, and hope return like sunlight through heavy clouds. Therapy gave me the tools and self-understanding I needed to move forward with more clarity and strength, and my experience helped to turn my curiosity about psychology into a passion.

I truly believe that therapy can benefit everyone.

This is not to say that therapy is a one-size-fits-all process. In fact, it's just the opposite! Good therapy is individualized and centered on you.

Therapy brings hope like sunlight breaking through dark clouds
Therapy sessions are safe and confidential

It starts with listening.

You can say whatever you need to say, in whatever way feels right to you—talk, yell, cry, cuss, or sit quietly and think. You’ll be heard and understood, perhaps more deeply than you’ve experienced before. We can talk about things you want to change and what is getting in the way. There is no judgment, no censoring, and no topic is off-limits.

At its root, your therapy is about your goals and about what I can do to support you in reaching them. I’ll listen with respect and compassion, drawing on therapeutic training, psychological theories, and lived experience. Although our backgrounds may differ, we can connect on a shared emotional level. When you feel safe enough to speak freely and shine light on the parts of yourself you’ve kept silent or hidden, real change can happen.

Building this kind of connection between us will take some time. A core part of my role is to earn the trust, and create the safety, to help get us there.

After you contact me, we'll set up a time for a free, 15 minute phone call. You can ask some of your questions, and I can ask some questions too. If we determine that we're a good fit to work together, we can schedule a session and go from there.

Life can get better.

I look forward to hearing from you.
