Hi! I’m Laura.

I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida. I've been working as a counselor for over ten years, and I'm excited to be bringing my practice to Vero Beach.

My specialty in navigating life changes developed through watching my own parents and their contemporaries struggling with the changes that came with retirement. They had worked so hard for the retirement they wanted, but they were unable to enjoy it when they got there. That struck me as a terrible unfairness. I wanted to change that, to help people find enjoyment and satisfaction in their retirement years. While my focus has expanded over the years, this desire is still a core part of my work.

I also spent a number of years working with abuse survivors, and that work coupled with my own experience of having been involved in a high-control group led to my passion for helping other individuals who have been similarly involved.

I've always been interested in psychology, but I didn't pursue it right out of college. My interests and skills led me across five states and through diverse positions ranging from teaching at an inner-city public high school to being a real estate paralegal. I'm no stranger to change in my life!

In my free time, I'm an avid tennis player. Coming from Texas, one of the things I love most about living in Florida is getting to play on clay courts instead of hard courts.

I also have two cats who run the household and always take the most comfortable chair.
